Summer is for outdoor dining. Too much emphasis is placed on buying silly breakable glasses. The great “update” for your house is a wrought iron chair set. A real investment is an all-weather furniture set that you can always sand down and repaint. (I never understood the yen for Harry Bertoia for Knoll or Aimes Aire, I’m much more “Hollywood” than Palm Beach.)

This Hollywood Regency pool lounger (for which you can “easily” get custom cushions) is unbeatable ($2,200).

Vintage Francois Carre sunburst chairs are a popular choice, which you can find at the Chateau Marmont. This sun lounger is much more reasonable ($399). I recommend “bistro dusty pink stripe.” I like the loops. EDIT: I was wrong, this is the price of the cushion. Sad!

You can’t lounge outside without a bar cart.

This isn’t my style, but I could imagine a pitcher of margaritas here.
