Millennial women have an untapped appetite for craftsmanship. We want bespoke bedposts, complex curtain installation, one-of-a-kind jewelry, sweaters that don’t pill, fashionable leather boots with thick soles, the thinnest wine glasses in the world, etc. It’s actually insane how much we’re asked to shop from piles of absolute crap when I’m positive what we’re looking for are quality goods at any price:

  • Beaudesert London is “the premier manufacturer of high-quality bespoke Four Poster Beds” in the world. Andrew Ginger, a founder of Beaudesert, is an expert on the life and work of Cecil Beaton and author of the acclaimed book Cecil Beaton At Home. This is some of his company’s handiwork:

Here is the invoice that was sent to me for my dream bed.
  • As I mentioned a few posts ago, Sharon Alouf’s jewelry is a favorite of the art world elite. Here’s what she posted today on Instagram. My husband thinks “seed pearls” are gross, but I don’t! I suggest reaching out to her on instagram:

  • If you’re looking for antique furniture, I would start with William Green (the great grandson of Ron Green).

I’m sorry but this is a steal at 950 pounds. I love pillars.
  • If you don’t want to buy anything, just listen to this song. It’s what I play when I wake up in the morning. It’s a mood-shifter.

  • If you want to feel superior to someone, read Jonathan Franzen’s girlfriend’s tell-all about being a worse writer than him. An absolute barnburner!

  • If you’re feeling jealous of people with children this holiday season, watch Motherland. This will eradicate that feeling.

  • Great unusual antique jewelry dealers in Paris:
