The River.
  • Commission a mural for your home. Seriously. I would ask Matt Kenny, he did the one at the River bar. If you’ve been there, you remember it.

  • Ash Carter—Graydon’s son—recommended this Lapham’s Quarterly piece on a 21-year-old scamming his way into producing a film version of The Iliad. So, so, so, so fun. I haven’t thought of Lapham’s in years! Or 10 Gracie Square, one of the best addresses in New York, which makes a brief appearance as the site of Sidney Lumet’s apartment. Incidentally, I once held a job there, with a desk in the servants quarters of Jean Stein’s penthouse apartment. (I never saw end-to-end in her apartment, only getting so many rooms deep before a maid or cook would call me back.) This is well-documented, but she threw herself out of a window a few months after I quit.

  • I want to know who is behind these AI-in-literary-magazine scandals? If I worked at an AI company in the marketing department I’d be placing these pieces full-time. Just saying, someone is doing the Work.
